    Meet The Florida Coastal Team: A High-Performing Team with a Vision to Grow

    Terry Kelly, Lead Trainer at The Florida Coastal Team, knew that strong training materials weren’t enough on their own. The team had great content. They had the experience. But they were stuck with bottlenecks in their system to get agent onboarded and into production.

    There was only so much time in the day. And the old system—self-paced modules with role play—wasn’t producing the scalable, consistent outcomes they needed.

    Now, just a few months into launching their performance-based training program, the team is preparing to double in size. Now their biggest agent training challenge? Outgrowing their training room.

    Before, we were limited on how fast we could grow or how big we could get. Now, we're already looking at trying to find a bigger building because we've already outgrown the training room.

    Before launching the new system, the team was running on:

    • Self-paced onboarding with little real-time feedback
    • Periodic roleplay and 'got a minute' sessions
    • No structured way to identify and address agent weaknesses early on
    It was a solid base with valuable material—but they weren’t building momentum. And the training became a bottleneck to growth.

    The Shift: From Knowledge Delivery to Agent Development

    The Florida Coastal Team transitioned into a structured, performance-based Agent Development model. That meant:
    • High-impact sessions with real accountability
    • Live skill building in a way that leads to results
    • Standardised learning objectives
    • Asynchronous prep with instructor-led sessions to assess progress
    Now, they’re not just guessing who’s ready—they know.

    Now, we're actually seeing where they're struggling, and we can fix it. Now, weaknesses are exposed earlier on, and we can address them.

    With the new system in place, Terry and the team have unlocked several key wins:
    • Clarity – Agents know what’s expected, and trainers know who’s ready
    • Culture – Group cohorts foster camaraderie and healthy competition
    • Capacity – With systems in place, they're positioned to scale faster than ever

    We're going to more than double the number of agents we have by the end of the year and now have a way to train and bring them into our culture. It's available now.

    And for Terry—who loves teaching and coaching—it’s also been personally rewarding. What once felt like a mountain of material now has a structure that works.

    It's given us that kind of structure that allows us to be a lot more laser focused on what we're providing to the agents and the opportunities we're giving them.
